A study conducted on the International Trade for the Borderlands is specifically to know the countries listed in the landlocked country. In addition, it can explain the advantages and disadvantages of these countries. In addition, it relates to international trade and the effects of interdependence among nations.
Additionally, it explains about landlocked countries, of which there are 44 countries that have no territorial sea access, limited border crossings and transit dependencies. There are 4 parts of the landlocked country of South America, Europe, Africa and there are also in Asia. The landlocked country in Africa has the 16 most countries of Europe, 14 countries and Asia have 12 countries. For example, Botswana, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Chad, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, South Sudan, Swaziland, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe. Whereas in South America there are only two countries, namely Bolivia and Paraguay.
In addition, there are advantages and disadvantages in the landlocked country. The advantages gained are the countries that are surrounded by other countries. The possibility of these countries is not easily attacked by pirates or most navies. In addition, he will not get an attack from the sea and can avoid natural disasters like tsunamis or typhoons.
While the disadvantage is that there is no fisheries resources and access to marine trade. They had to rely on the mercy of the neighboring countries to get into the seaports. In addition, the trading market is also limited and dependent on neighboring countries. Therefore, neighboring countries will take advantage and charge extra because these landlocked countries are because they have no other option.
The landlocked country faces the high cost of transport services and high transaction costs. Finally, a landlocked country will face problems in obtaining clean water needs for access to irrigation for crop use and daily needs.
